民俗学者・宮本常一（1907－1981）は，1930年代から亡くなるまで，日本各地を旅した稀代のフィールドワーカーとして知られている．また，現地調査においては，まだ貴重であったカメラを使用し，行く先々でメモ代わりに記録撮影を行っている．それらは主に戦後日本における高度経済成長期（昭和30・40年代）にあたり，今となってはすっかり失われた情景である．そのために，宮本が遺した総数10万点にも及ぶ写真ネガは，貴重な資料群となっている．現在，それらは故郷である山口県大島郡周防大島町に設立された【周防大島文化交流センター（宮本常一記念館）】において保管され，そしてデジタル化されて，『宮本常一データベース』として，WEB上で広く公開されている．
さて，宮本常一の足跡については，広島県福山市においても認められ，市内各所における写真が確認できる．そこで今回，改めて福山地域における写真の抽出作業を【周防大島文化交流センター（宮本常一記念館）】にて行った．
本稿では，当地域における宮本の足跡を日記や著作物から辿るとともに，集成した写真の一部を紹介してみたい．また，これらは福山における戦後の地域史を考える上でも，貴重な資料であるといえる．

Tsuneichi Miyamoto is a well-known folkrolist for his field work in recording cities and towns all over Japan for about twenty years from 1955, a period of expanding Japanese economy after the Second World War (namely so-called 30s
and 40s of Showa Era). His recordings are particularly characterized by taking photographs in such an environment where cameras were expensive. All his photographs of more than one hundred thousand in negative from are kept in the
archives of the Suo-oshima Cultural Exchange Center (so-called the Miyamoto Tsuneichi Museum) in Yamaguchi prefecture. His work is really useful for now because we can see a past of the cities and towns through his photographs; and
those photographs provide us in our present time with digitized WEB page that are available to all.
He has been particularly interested in scenes of the Setouchi Inland-Sea that consequently includes those of the Fukuyama city, Hiroshima prefecture. As some points of the city have been indentified with his photographs, I have
recently pursued what he has done on the basis of his materials.
This paper introduces Miyamoto’s Fukuyama-related photographs together with his diaries and writings, which would suggest what has taken place in the city from the history perspective.
