2011年４月福山市立大学が開学し、公立大学ではじめての教育学部が誕生した。それは、教育コースと保育コースの２コース制の児童教育学科を有し、地域社会に根ざした実践的な児童教育学を追究するものであった。本稿では、第１に、福山市立大学教育学部が既存の教員養成系学部とどのように異なるのか、そして全国の教育系学部のなかでどのような位置を占めるのか、明らかにした。第２に、地域社会と向き合い、地域社会を資源とする児童教育学の必要性について論究した。第３に、児童教育学がどのように発達理論を取り入れながら創造・構築されるべきか、古典的な発達論争や教育改革と結びついた発達理論を踏まえて検討した。

In April 2011, the first faculty of education in a public university was born. Since the opening of the Faculty of Education of Fukuyama City, it has been engaged in education and research on child pedagogy, which pursues practicality rooted in the community through a two-course system of education and childcare courses. The aim of this paper is first to examine the position of the Faculty of Education of Fukuyama City University among all education-related faculties in Japan, second to discuss how child pedagogy deals with the community, and third to discuss how child pedagogy is created and constructed while incorporating developmental theories.
