It is said that children's health can be related to the amount and way of physical exercise mainly when they play outside. In this paper, the life styles and physical plays of modem children are compared with those of the past to find out modem children's health conditions. In the study, a total of 1278 kindergarten children, 561 four-year old and 726 five-year old children, are questionaired with the help of their mothers. Considering the seasonal difference in children's life styles and activities the month of September and December, one is considered as an active period and the other is considered as an inactive period, are focused in the study and the following results are obtained: 1. The children in the study get up at around 7: 00 to 7: 30 a.m. and go to bed after 9 o'clock, however, children of the past usually got up by 7 o'clock and went to bed by 8 o'clock and had a longer time for sleeping. 2. More than 60% of the children both in the present time and in the past get up and got up with a good feeling, but 30% more of the modem children can not do so in the winter time. 3. More than 80% of the chidren in the present time and in the past eat breakfast regularly. 4. About 60% of the modem children watch T. V. for 1 to two hours in the summer time and 20% more in the winter time because of the shorter daytime, and this was true for the children of the past. 5. The children both in the present time and in the past suffer and suffered from skin disease most and a cold comes and came the second. 6. The children do and did the physical plays they learned at kindergartens after they come and came home both in the present time and in the past. And this reveals that children's experiences at kindergartens motivate their plays at home.
