Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to clarify a relationship between political discourse and content of Watashitachi No Doutoku in elementary school. Watashitachi No Doutoku is a teaching material of moral education. It is a textbook that was made by the Ministry of Education in 2014.
In this study, I collected the discussion in the Japanese Diet on Watashitachi No Doutoku. And, I consider these discussions, and found that this textbook was made not only political factors but also social factors. According to Watashitachi No Doutoku, moral education should be carried out even in the home. In fact, this textbook suggest that children should return to bring this textbook to the home, and recommend that they should read it with their parents.
This paper concluded that moral education in the home is essential factor in the analysis of Watashitachi No Doutoku. It is quite possible that we should consider how to use Watashitachi No Doutoku in the home and we should be critical for this political intervention in the home.
