 Outreach activities are meant to provide music to local citizens who have little exposure to music in their daily life. Outreach activities aimed at children have an especially meaningful impact, in that they help children feel more familiar with art and artists, train the art professionals of the future, and also provide the participants with a better understanding of art and artists. In this research, we conducted effective art appreciation classes and workshops based on the three goals listed in Outreach Activities by Angela Myles Beeching. Introductory workshops about and hands-on experience with musical instruments lead to encourage the active participation of children and increase their interest and concern for music In addition, the children showed greater interest and appreciation when they knew how to listen to and enjoy music, through the knowledge acquired from their workshop experience. However, children who merely participate in outreach activities for fun will not experience increased closeness to the arts and artists that is the main purpose of outreach activities. To use their acquired knowledge and experience, it is necessary for children to have a willingness to experience music on a higher level. For that, it is important for children to experience the joy of music as an audience through outreach activities.Practitioners, through outreach activities, are required to create programs which will give opportunities to acquire knowledge and experience and impart the joy of the natural beauty and fun of music. In order to develop this appreciation, it is necessary to continue outreach and explore the possibility of more effective activities, including which to pursue and how to conduct them.
