抄録 |
Seven years ago, the Support for Persons with Developmental Disabilities law was enacted throughout Japan in April of 2005. The law is intended to support people with autism, Asperger's disorder, learning disorders, and attention deficit hyperactive disorders. In the past, children with developmental disorders were labeled as “undisciplined children” or “difficult child,” and they did not receive professional support from the government. Recently, the recognition of developmental disorders has increased. However, nursery school teachers still face a strong need for practical methods to care for children with disabilities. In 2013, the authors of this research abstract facilitated a workshop entitled, “Let's Play with Arts! for understanding children with disabilities,” for the Kure-city family support program. This following research was written to introduce and examine the effect and results of the workshop, which utilized artistic activities as a tool to understand disabled children. |
