Abstract

Important Traditional building group preservation districts can be developed for storage and utilization.
Because it is a cultural property, it is open to the outside. However, it is a place of residence for the residents.
Regarding its use, it is necessary to coordinate each entity (stakeholder) to avoid the confusion and expand the possibilities.
Takehara City also has an important traditional building group conservation area (selected in 1987).
Subsequently, in accordance with the “Act on Maintenance and Improvement of
Traditional Scenery in Certain Districts” in 2012, several areas including the district are designated as historic scenes.
These streets are subject to regulation and subsidization by the government as public goods.
The charm of the streets is decided by how stakeholders such as owners, residents, community groups, business operators, tourists, and exchange customers are involved in the streets.
In Takehara City, management activities are being undertaken over 36 years since the
selection.
