The purpose of this study was to obtain information necessary to establishing an optimal parent-child relationship utilizing the Positive and Negative Parenting Scale (PNPS). Among 40 families of children with neurodevelopmental disorders reported in the previous paper, two families estimated by the PNPS to have a high level of need for support were sampled. As a result of PNPS, there were many items of boundary level and consideration required level in the composite scale of the negative parenting attitudes in both parents. After explaining the results of PNPS and subsequent support that takes into account the psychological state of parents, considerable improvements were observed in the parenting attitudes and children's behavioral aspects in both families. Parent-child support that considered PNPS results and parental psychological characteristics seemed to improve negative relationships and contribute to restructuring positive relationships.
