In this paper, we focused on the developmental process of Problem posing centered arithmetic education by Zingo Shimizu to get suggestions for the improvement of mathematical class, which was intended to develop learner’s mathematical competencies and capabilities, from the perspective of historical research. By analyzing the developmental process of the practice, we were able to divide into four periods: the early developmental stage, the formative/prevailing stage, the transformation stage and the succession stage. As a result, it was found that the relationship between the daily life and the way of mathematical thinking was greatly different between the former three periods and the last period. |
