Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in student evaluations between online classes and ordinary classes, focusing on sports course and social work course in a university. The results of this study are as follows. (1) There were differences in student evaluations between online classes and ordinary classes depending on the grade. For example, the satisfaction of first-grade students with online classes was relatively high. Third-grade students found it stressful to learn the diversified and advanced content of their courses through online classes and assignments. (2) About 90% of students in this course used smartphones to take online classes. Thus, to guarantee the quality of online classes, the smartphone-based assignment presentation style should be improved. (3) First-grade students were forced to take online classes immediately after entering university; therefore, they were more likely to be affected by online classes than students in other grades.
