Abstract

This paper aims to examine how we can support children in under the Covid-19 pandemic. The epidemic of Covid-19 has severely restricted the movement of people and, as a result, the support for children has been seriously limited. Therefore, we attempted to provide support with children in these situations. Specifically, we developed a hybrid system which combined virtual and face-to-face learning support activities for children in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake where there is a chronic shortage of volunteers. Firstly, this paper clarifies the problems of virtual and face-to-face support activities based on each method. Then, the possibilities and prospects of a hybrid format of virtual and face-to-face support activities are discussed.
