Many similar but different concepts about family individualization, individuation and privatization have been proposed. This article aims to reconsider these concepts and to suggest a new research framework of individuation and privatization inside/outside of family.
Confusions in these concepts are summed up in three dimensions, between individualization / individuation and privatization, between individualization and individuation, and between individuation as total concept and individuation as its factor. Our research group have thus far considered individuation as two dimension concepts, but suggest framework regarding individuation as three dimensions, individuation, togetherness and openness.
