The purpose of this paper is to report the present, status and prospects of soci0-information studies based on our experience at the Faculty of Social Information Science, Kure University. The research subjects of our faculty are concerned with various kinds of social phenomena including the changes in social systems and also natural environmental systems in the advanced information society.
As causal relations of such social phenomena are complicated, a broad interdisciplinary
collaboration among various kinds of sciences, e.g. social science, natural science, and
information science is necessary. To proceed with this interdisciplinary collaboration, we
have organized a co-research committee which makes plans for symposiums and co-research projects.
