The purpose of this is to clarify the role of midwives in the nursing profession. A survey was conducted to midwives and nurses (not working as midwives) working in the nursing profession,and the result of survey was compared with each group. As a result,it was observed in this study that the midwifes had more confidence in their work itself and perceived their work as meaningful occupation,and also,they recognized that their work place had held attractive organizational climate. It is expected for the midwives with autonomy and confidence, the essential characteristics for the professional occupation,to take the leadership in the nursing profession to create more attractive work place. Also,reforming organizational climate,with the active role of midwives,they can be the human resource to motivate the nursing profession. |
