The purpose of this research was to investigate the awareness and actual status regarding children's morality and better cooperation between early childhood facilities and elementary schools from the perspective of morality education through a questionnaire survey for nursery staff,kindergarten teachers, and elementary school teachers in a single elementary school zone, in order to gain knowledge about the method for continuous education of morality beginning from infancy. As the result of a questionnaire survey to a total of 74 persons in a single elementary school zone (37 nursery staff members, 11 kindergarten teachers, and 26 elementary school teachers), we learned the following three points regarding cooperation between early childhood facilities and elementary schools for supporting morality education in children. (1) It is necessary for nursery staff,elementary school teachers,and the like to have a sense for proactively learning about the differences and common points regarding their opinions on and the necessity of morality in children in transitional periods. (2) It is necessary to clarify the morality to be nurtured and the ideal image of children to be aimed for in each elementary school zone, as well as the specific means to achieve that. (3) It is necessary to establish specific methods of cooperation and considerations involved in the education of morality in children with special needs.
