Evaluation of Recording Area Fluctuation in Two-Dimensional Magnetic Recording
The two-dimensional magnetic recording scheme has been proposed for the high-density magnetic recording media. A magnetic substance consists of fine crystal grains and is magnetized every grain. In the high-density case where each single bit information is recorded in a small number of grains, the area in which each bit is recorded fluctuates owing to random shapes of grains. The fluctuation may affect the recording. We here evaluate recording area fluctuation by improving the existing Voronoi model that explains the shapes of grains.
