Abstract

 The purpose of this study is to analyze IT utilization by firms and local governments. In 2003, a special project, "IT Frontier Education Business in Junior College," was organized to analyze business intelligence and IT utilization in organizations. For example, when an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system is introduced to an organization, what new roles have to be created in the organization? Top-down and project team management approaches to ERP introduction were focused on. This comparative case study provides empirical analysis regarding the present status of ERP, the utilization of business intelligence, the problem of ERP induction and how to overcome that problem in South Korea and Japan.
