North-South Koreas and China-Taiwan have both remained as divided nations，whereas the inter-Peninsular relations and the cross-Strait relations have been undergoing differing developments since 1990s.
The paper seeks to compare these two divided dyads focusing on correlation between the conflicting rivals，membership of the UN，and diplomatic partnership with the U.S. and Japan. Although divided nations are rare
in current international relations，it seems to be indispensable for peace and stability in East Asia to look in depth at these two hot spots in the region.
