インターネットの利用拡大につれ, ネットワークの利用形態も大幅に変わってきている. 通信量の点ではWWW(World Wide Web)が大部分を占めるようになり, その点だけで考えるとWWWがネットワークの基本サービスと言っても過言ではない. しかし, ネットワークの基本サービスとしては電子メール, ネットニュース, ファイル転送, リモートログインなどが必須であり,それらが正常動作するためには管理コストが必要である. 本稿では, 中国・四国インターネット協議会(CSI)におけるネットワークサービス利用の状況を報告し,特にネットニュースの利用の現状について詳しく紹介する. それを基に, 地域ネットワークなどある単位でサービス運用するためにできるだけシステム構築, 管理の手間を削減する方策について考察する. / As the growth of the Internet, its usage remarkably changes. From the view point of the communication traffic, it is no exaggreation to say that the WWW(World Wide Web) is the basic service of the network. However, the electronic mail, file transfer, remote login and so on are requested as the basic network services. And the cost to maintain them takes a lot for network administrators. In this paper, we report the current status of usage of the network services in the Chugoku Shikoku Internet Council (CSI), especially on the NetNews service. From this report, we consider the way to manage the network services by any unit as a regional network to reduce management load of system construction and maintenance of network services.
