A new approach to college students with ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyoeractivity Disorder)
As the biological foundations of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) become clear, there is increasing interest in adult ADHD. At the same time, it has been pointed out that college students with ADHD are qualitatively different from adult ADHD, indicationg the need for a comparative investigation of college students with ADHD and general adult ADHD. Reflecting upon experiences from personal clinical psychology activities, the author has conducted a comprehensive survey of the leading research in an attempt to explore the possible approaches to college students with ADHD. As a result, attention has been focused on reinforced compensation, suggesting the necessity of an approach that focuses on the attentional functions among the set of executive functions.
