Abstract

There is a growing need to support students with learning difficulties in classes. In some cases, support also should be offered to teachers who have difficulties in working with demotivated or disobedient students. In response to this challenge, recent studies focus on universal design for learning. This article analyzes universal design for learning in the mathematics classroom based on the teaching guide in the Course of Study and characteristics of neurodevelopmental disorders. It also presents teaching methods for students with learning difficulties by clarifying how to support students at each stage of the learning process, specifically focusing on using visual aids, i.e., charts. It may assist teachers who work with students with "perceptions of difficulties.”
