Hiroshima Jogakuin University established the Support Center for Students with Special Needs in April 2014, and students with various disabilities have been supported there since then. This article describes the number of students with disabilities who have been supported, the types of disabilities, and how they have been supported. In addition, it reports the cases in which reasonable accommodations have been provided under COVID-19 since 2020 and addresses the problems. As a result, it has been found that a means for preventing isolation and loneliness of the students with disabilities is necessary.
It is assumed that the essence of education is being questioned as for reasonable accommodations under COVID-19, and it should be necessary to formulate technical standards. Self-advocacy skill development of students with disabilities has been found to be very important for them to live fulfilling lives after graduation, as well as develop "Find your voice" skills that our university encourages them to learn.
