Abstract

Shinmonki, which is in possession of Ontokuji Temple in Okayama City was transcribed by Yūō, the chief priest of Otakisan-hōjuin Tenple in Bizen City in the Tempō era of the Edo Period (1829-1843). It was transcribed from Jikyōsōshogi, owned by Kōzanji Temple, which was transcribed by Yōben in the 9 th year of Kanbun of the Edo Period (1669). Jikyōsōshogi was transcribed by Jōkai from Jirinkantō in the 3 rd year of Kenchō of the Kamakura Period (1251), which is also owned by Kōzanji Temple.
This paper introduces this new material, Shinmonki, from Ontokuji Temple. It also discusses newly-learned material from Shinmonki from several viewpoints, and conpares it with Jirinkantō of Kōzanji Temple.
