Woven silk fabrics were washed in water using an electric washing machine and the effect of washing on Kawabata's torque parameter were studied. The results are summerized as follows.
1. Torque parameter (Tr₀) increased in the number of washing.
2. Torque parameter (C₁) was not affected by the number of washing.
3. Steric structure of the yarn had a remarkable effect on the torque parameter (Tr₀, C₁) .
