The Development of a Self-Evaluation Method to Increase Self-Reinforcement and Improve Self-Efficacy
The promotion of self-efficacy is important in school education today. However, even if students have self-efficacy, it is difficult for them to continue autonomous learning because they often tend to lazy. To overcome the tendency, it is necessary for them to evaluate themselves when they are in the middle and end of their learning. It is very important for students to reinforce themselves. For example, they praise themselves when they succeed, and they encourage themselves when they fail. Therefore, we think that it is important to support autonomous and continuous learning by evaluating students. We also think that students are able to keep on raising their self-efficacy if we have them recognize their ability and effort along with problem-solving methods, by creating a new way for self-evaluation. In this study, we have developed a self-evaluation method to increase self-reinforcement and to improve self-efficacy in ordinary junior high school science classes.
