This report continues an examination of the validity of a placement test used to stream first-year students at a Japanese university. In response to a previous report （Tennant, 2013）, revisions were made to the test. The results of the most recent cohort of students are statistically analyzed to ensure that the revisions made have improved the validity of the test. The current analysis employs methods from both classical test theory and item response theory. The report concludes with some suggestions for possible further analysis and revisions.

本稿では，日本の大学の新入生を対象とした英語のプレイスメントテストの妥当性について，引き続き論じる。前稿での課題を踏まえ，テスト改訂を行い，テストの妥当性を改善したかを見るために，直近の学生群のテスト結果を統計的に分析した。今回の分析では古典的なテスト理論と項目応答理論を採用した。最後に今後の分析と改訂の可能性についても論じる。
