Hiroshima City Fire Services Bureau has introduced a staff advisory system for three types of fire （electrical, chemical and automobile） since 1996, for the investigation of recent complex and diversifying fire causes. Faculty members of Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University have been appointed as the advisory staff in these fields. This report shows the tendency of the recent fire causes analyzed from the past cases, and our investigation into representative cases in each field. In addition, it considers possible future fire causes. The aim of this paper is thus to introduce the research activity of the Hiroshima City Fire Services Bureau as well as to contribute to heightening the general awareness of fire prevention.

広島市消防局は，近年の複雑および多様化している火災原因調査のため，平成8（1996）年より「電気」「化学」「自動車」の3分野におけるアドバイザリースタッフ制度を導入している。そして本学の教員は，これら3つの分野においてアドバイザリースタッフに任命されている。
本報告は，これまでの火災調査の依頼件数から近年の火災原因の傾向とそれぞれの分野における代表的な火災原因の調査事例を示すことで，広島市消防局予防部予防課調査係の火災原因調査活動の紹介と，身近な製品からの火災予防への意識向上と注意喚起に寄与することを目的とする。また，今後の火災原因についても考察する。
