The Hiroshima Engineers Reaching Out （HERO） group was organized in 2003 and is comprised of staff from Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University. In open lectures aimed at making students understand widely-used advanced technology through simple experiments and practical exercises, HERO began a trial “Multi-discipline Experiential Program” for the university students. After detailed investigation of the content of this program, HERO began offering a course entitled “Technology and Industrialization” from 2007 that can be counted towards credits for practical engineering education. We wish to report here on the establishment of the “Multi-discipline Experiential Program” and “Technology and Industrialization” educational programs along with providing results and problems encountered.

平成15年度より，広島国際学院大学の教員からなるグループ「HERO」を立ち上げた。HEROは一般に広く利用されている高度な技術を，わかりやすい実験・実習などの体験を公開講座などによって理解させるために，本学の学生を対象とした「多分野体験プログラム」を試行的に開始した。このプログラム内容を精査し，平成19年度から，実践工学教育として単位認定可能な「技術と産業化」を開講することとなった。ここでは，「多分野体験プログラム」と「技術と産業化」の教育プログラムの開発およびその成果と課題について報告する。
