意思決定をテーマに心理学や経済学や経営学などを中心に様々な理論が生み出されてきた。経済学におけるように理想的な意思決定をすることができれば問題はないが、実際の意思決定は完全なものはありえない。ある状況下において最適な意思決定ができることが最も良い選択と言える。その選択については現代の言語理論を利用することにより、人間の脳から生み出される出力の過程を理論で分析すること、つまり認知科学、によって説明することができると考えられる。本稿では音韻論のひとつの理論である最適性理論を用いて、さらに心理学のヒューリスティックやバイアスなどの概念を取り入れることにより、意思決定についてより緻密な決定が可能であると提案する。ただし最適性理論で用いられる制約は普遍的なものでなければならず、心理学のヒューリスティックやバイアスについて普遍的な制約として新たに生み出さなければならない。

To date, numerous theories about decision-making have been generated in fields such as psychology, economics, and management. It would be best if idealistic decision-making could be attained as in economics, but it is very difficult to identify the best decision to take. Achieving optimal decision-making under a particular circumstance can be said to be making the best choice. It is thought that the choice can be explained by utilizing modern theories of language, and analyzing the process of outputs generated through the human brain, that is, through cognitive science. In this paper, I propose that we can achieve more systematic decision-making by utilizing Optimality Theory, which is a theory associated with phonology, and by introducing the principle of heuristics and biases from psychology. The constraints used in Optimality Theory have to be universal, and it will be necessary to create new universal constraints on heuristics and biases.
