The annual increase of fires in vehicles is still significant. As a measure to prevent further accidents, an investigation on the cause of such fires was conducted and in some cases fire tests were performed. The result showed that in most cases（except for arson case）the cause was either fuel, oil leakage or electric short-circuit caused by human error such as installation of inadequate aftermarket parts by the customer; and poor maintenance.
