The results of our recent research into navigation monitor visibility are summarized and described here. Our test subjects were four 21-year-old students. Our conclusions have been reached by evaluating Watching time (i.e. the time duration required to read specific information on the each object, while moving eyes from one object on the road to another object on the monitor, and back to the original object) under a range of conditions. The two critical conditions in this study were the location and distance of the monitor relative to the test subjects' eyes. The findings show that the most desirable distance of the monitor from the eyes is approximately 600 mm. Also we have concluded that the test subjects' eye should not turn at an angle greater than 27 degrees.
