Abstract

New structural system of anti-symmetric Z-type NC brace is proposed by the authors. This system possesses reduction capacity of earthquake response due to elastic strain energy absorption of distortion of the structure. Numerical analysis of two-story space frame is carried out to extend the study on the single-story frame. Elastic and elastic-plastic behavior of the two-story structure is examined efficiency of the system in comparison with the structure with hysteretic dampers.
