Abstract

The authors reached the conclusion from shaking table tests and seismic response analyses that anti-symmetric Z-type NC braced frames show seismic response reduction performance due to accumulated elastic strain energy based upon incremental torsional deformation. Static loading tests on the NC braced frames are carried out to estimate the incremental torsional deformation behavior in detail. From experimental results, the incremental torsional deformation is clarified based upon monotonic increase of torsional moment.
