Abstract

Generally, an exposed column-base consists of anchor-bolts and thick base plate, connecting steel column and concrete foundation. These column-bases showed semi-rigid behavior, caused by anchor-bolt elongation and base plate bending deformation of out of plane. The conventional columnbase detail is very difficult to evaluated of rigidity and strength. The author propose a new type of column-base, that has enhanced precision of rigidity and strength.
In this paper, a FEM analysis was carried out for the purposes of comparison of conventional column-base with a new type of column-base.
