Utilization of the information equipments in information education is becoming more important year after year. In Department of Environmental Information in HIT，we have been promoting a practical use of notebook computer，where every student holds an individual notebook computer and educaters have developed a new type lecture using notebook computer as a media-tool. This paper presents，(1) The actual state of students concerning computer-system.(2) Form of use of notebook computer for information literacy in lectures and selfstudies. (3) Evaluation of effectivness of an individual notebook computer for understanding computer system. For evaluation of effectiveness, we introduced a new evaluation method which measures a recognition ratio of computer technical terms. Using the method we have made clear the excellent effectivness of an individual notebook computer for information education.
