In recent years, RC structure buildings, with the post damper system are increasing in number because it takes little space. Authors had been developed the shear resistance member having new out-of-plane stiffener. In this paper, in order to confirm basic characteristics, loading tests were carried out on the post damper with the shear resistance member made of ordinary steel as a hysteretic damper. According to the tests, the following results were obtained. 1) Having new out-of-plane stiffener, the damper made of ordinary steel panel, which is about 70 in width-to-thickness ratio, shows excellent deformation capacity and efficient energy absorption capacity. 2) The shear resistance member shows a stable hysterisis characteristics under compressive axial force of 0.2 in its fully plastic axial force. 3) It is possible to develop the post damper which easily applyed precast reinforced concrete constructions.
