Abstract

For the purpose of obtaining material for creating a program to build physical fitness and health, we determined the multiplication and offset effects of smoking and not eating breakfasts on the life of persons who had experienced one year of university student life on their physical fitness, using multiple regression analysis. Results were as follows: 1) Members of sports clubs who have the tobacco smoking habit showed pronounced decrease in endurance and power abilities and we suggested that the bad effects of smoking offset the effects of their training. 2) The decrease of the muscle mass because of the acute effects of smoking reduced the muscle strength of some of the members in sports clubs. 3) We suggested that students who discarded tobacco smoking and continued a daily exercise load of over 60 minutes showed good effects in raising endurance ability. 4) Students who discarded tobacco smoking habits and took daily breakfast showed good effects in raising total physical fitness. 5) We must urge boarders and roomers to have breakfast and recommend daily exercise of over 60 minutes.
