Abstract

The vorticity transport equation for a two-dimensional steady flow is solved by using the finite difference method in the neighborhood of the inlet between parallel plates. The range of the Reynolds number from 1 to 50 is considered. The pressure distribution, the shear stress on the wall, the values of viscous term and inertia term, and the velocity distribution were calculated from the vorticity and stream function values. The dependency of the above quantities on the Reynolds number are shown.
