In 1961 Polanyi suggested the possibility of using rotating-vibration trasition for laser action of CO2 molecule. Generation in a number of CO2 lines of two rotating-vibration band of the CO2 molecule in the 10μ region was discovered in 1964. This paper reported the review of the investigation and the applications on CO2 laser. In recently the reports on laser application have an increasing tendency even years than the analysises on laser systems. CO2 laser is simularly as well. Especially, in the application to plasma, we have been amazed.
