Recently, a great deal of research work of distributed parameter control systems has been carried out by scientists and engineers. By combining the finite element method with dynamic linear programming, the finite element and dynamic linear programming method (the FE & DLP method) has been developed and systematized in order to solve distributed parameter control systems governed by partial differential equation systems with both equality or inequality constraints and an objective function. In this paper an efficient computational aspect for the FE & DLP method is studied in order to save computer time and memory. The efficient scheme to find the initial basic feasible solution is developed by use of the special structures of the FE & DLP method. The proposed computational scheme allows us to solve large scale problems of distributed parameter control systems.
