Abstract

Recently, the research on the underground water pollution has been done for preventing the sudden increase of underground water pollution. There is the measurement of flow velocity and direction in this research items, and the establishment of practical methods for measuring its flow velocity and direction at a very slow range has been desired earnestly. The authors have suggested the measuring methods of flow velocity and direction by using a single type probe, but it is impossible to measure the flow velocity and direction simultaneously. In this paper, we have described the simultaneous measuring methods of flow velocity and direction by using a thin film sensor that we have devised newly, and show the deciding methods of a measurable range. From the experimental results, we could confirm that the simultaneous measuring methods of flow velocity and the 16 compass directions is possible using a thin film sensor that we have devised at the range of flow velocity 0.2~ 13[m/sec].
