This study inverstigates the improvements in industrial development and urban development in six provincial cities in Japan and Korea. What were the scale of those improvements? What a method were those inprovements? And were they linked well? The results of the study were as follows: in Japan the method of development in residential areas are land readjustment projects and preperation of housing sites. Whereas in Korea, they are mainly land readjustments and development of housing estates. Forthermore, the method of land development for industrial areas is by reclamation of the foreshores in Japan, and by the preparation of industrial estates in Korea.
