Abstract

Everything which exists has fractal nature,and fractal dimension. It is thought that the fractal dimension becomes an index by which the alignment of river flow or debris flow is characterized,and becomes an evaluation method of slope failure. There are two methods to analysis the fractal dimension,the first is the measuring method by dividers and the second is box counting method by the subdivision of the square. This paper proposed using the fractal analysis by using the satellite remote sensing data that is square mesh data from the previously mentioned methods. The fractal nature evaluation was conducted for the area of Hiroshima under a heavy rain condition on June 29,1999. This paper compares and examines the soil testing results and the slope failure result.
