Abstract

In recent years, a haptic device that output power as one of the computer output devices has been developed. We can get the feeling that we really touch the material through a sensor of haptic device when we touch a material simulated in a computer. In this research, a virtual guitar in which the feeling playing guitar and the sound volume are changed by adjusting power to input with a haptic device was developed. With the haptic device we feel as if we play a genuine guitar. Moreover, it seems that we can play various musical instruments by enhancing the system. The purpose of this paper is to describe the composition of the virtual guitar system and the calculation methods of power and sounds playing virtual guitar.
