Abstract

Effectiveness of the small group instruction on a mathematics class in Department of Environmental Design has been investigated. Some of students in the Department have low academic achievement in mathematics and entered under several entrance examination also for literature course. Through the affective and cognitive evaluation it is realized that for compulsory subjects in mathematics the size of the class consisting of students who do not understand high school mathematics properly will be about 20. Certain small group class organization will be needed in such Department.
