Several improvements of the course in “Basic Experiments in Physics,” especially newly designed experiment notebook and revision of the textbook, were reported. An experiment notebook was specially designed for our students, which was named “HIT experiment notebook,” and began to be handed out from 2013 academic year. The textbook was revised in many regards and its 4th edition was published in 2016. The educational effects of the above-mentioned improvements were discussed.
