It is difficult to conduct the design training in the department of civil Engineering, because the students have had little experience of design. We tried coming to grips with design outside the college curriculum in order that:
① they may be interested in design,
② they may find a good design,
③ they may master the design methodology,
④ they may picture themselves using their designs practically, and
⑤ they may say how useful their designs are
That caused not only them to have a strong sense of design, but also us to give careful and instructive advice to some students who want extremely to study design. They also took part as a witness in the workshop in which we teachers made designs. We are sure that our trial is very effective in instructing design.
