The purpose of this research is to make a comparative study of the activation policy, from the viewpoint of city planning in provincial cities in Japan and Korea. Investigations were made in six provincial cities between Japan and Korea. This research has studied the placement of industries within these cities in modern times in hte context of the development of roads, residential development and industrial development.
