We started new “Department of Civil Engineering” in 2006. Then we started the new curriculum as well, in which the design training is given. The students who matriculated in 2006 were, in their sophomoreyear, required to take “Civic Design and Satellite Information” to analyze the space information (three dimensions) from plans (maps=two dimensions) as well as “Practice in Construction Engineering” to make a model (1: 1000) － Educational Creative Technology － of the area of theYahata River. They, juniors now, are required to study space design at “Space Creative Design” in the first term and “Space Creative Practice”. We tried making use of Web system for instructing the students in Design. As a result, they positively participated in the class using Web system. It was also very useful for us to grip how far they were making progress and how well their results got.
