Watanabe Naoki was born in Kure. He was killed in Sino-Japanese war. He wrote war poems from the humanitarian standpoint.
Kuzuhara Sigeru was also born in Kure. He edited a poetry magazine Kosmos and composed masterpieces at the same time. Tsukamoto Kunio stayed Kure for a little while. Kagawa Susumu built his tanka inscription on the Kurahashi island. I have also reported other nine Manyou Kahis of Kure-town.
